How many brands can we think of using the Deng-fu FM086 (TT bike)

When people talk brand names VS Chinese frames...
Fondriest is a company that has been in the Tour de France, Stevens is also fairly well known
These are just 4 off the top of my head that all use the same chinese frame
Interestingly when you compare prices... what are you getting for your money for the extra bucks with that brand name

Are there any other companies you can think of that use deng fu frames?

Are any other brands you can think of that uses the same frame as other brands?

My main question is, what is th difference in frame quality. There are a few stories around of chinese frames breaking because apparently they aren't well made frames, so would you expect better quality from the companies that rebadge them.

Also, not question regarding the different companies but what is the adjustability like on these bikes? Do they really only offer a couple of positions?

"The devil is in the details"
A parachute is made of fabric right? - now there is fabric for umbrellas, backpacks, kites and there is fabric for parachutes.

I know this is annecdotal evidence but I have been riding a DengFu FM-098 road bike for nearly 18 months now. I am a bigger fellow (hover between 94 and 98kg) and ride in the norther fringes of Sydney where there are shitty roads with potholes and crappy road cover (they make the roads at Forster look fantastic). Never skipped a beat and I am really impressed with it.

I know this is only one persons experience but my experience so far is that it holds upto any of the mainstream manufactures frames of ~2k quality.

I havent heard of many of them having issues. no more than the likes of giant, cracknfail (cannondale), felt (remember the seat clamp issue?), Cervelo R2.5 a little while ago, Kuota. LOOK, ask freak about look.....

There are plenty of failures but I tend to think it's the way XYZ company deals with the failure that ultimately determines wether people find out or not....

Mine too. It's nearly 3 years old, I'm around 90kg currently, and it's an everything bike, from commuting 60km a day, bike racing, to jumping gutters & doing bike tracks.

This is what I expected to find when looking into Chinese frames & wheels i.e complete rubbish, that falls apart after a month or 2, poorly designed, low quality materials etc etc but 90% of what I have read is positive. Maybe 2 - 3 years this may have been the case, but certainly not now.

The frameset from Deng fu costs about $1200. Then I think looking at about $300 for shipping.

The branded framesets are about $2,600 or more depending which sticker

Do you get a warranty for the extra cash?

Deng fu isn't making them for all of those companies.

It is an open mould, so anyone can access the design and mould - the quality is then up to the individual companies or producers.

Perhaps... but you could easily get it painted up as a Fondriest bike. Instead of you second hand bike losing value... its increased

Nope. It was the same as the planet x stealth. Dolan used the same frame as did karbona.
