Is it too early to post predictive goal times?

Goal time? I have no idea! When I did port Mac everyone said add at least 30 mins to your Busso time as it is a harder course? NZ ? Maybe someone could compare its difficulty to Busso and Port Mac?

Stick on 45 mins for a normal day...could be better or worse depending on the wind, rain and if its freezing cold. Oh, and if you went with high tyre pressures at Busso you'll be bouncing at Taupo so let them down a bit. It is true though that you can drink the water in the lake just best if you avoid doing it anywhere near the start ;)

It is a great race and support is excellent.

For those who have done NZ before- what did you wear on the bike? Long sleeve jacket?gloves? Little bear said it was max 11 last week brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I have always just worn trisuit, arm warmers and gloves but given how well a sleeveless vest worked in 8 deg at falls today I think I will be packing that as well.

Done it twice and gone with arm warmers both times for the whole ride. They do have a clothes drop system in place whereby you can start off with additional stuff and drop it after a while - as long as it's got your competitor number on it you should get it back later. My guess is that the longer you're going to be out there the more important the clothes choice is going to be.

I dont get in until 2:30 so looks like Ill miss you.

You can stop in Taihape (tie Happy) its a lovely place famous for the gumboot throwing competition which is held on Saturday, 10 March 2012. A great excuse to stay a little longer before heading home.

Body Fuel is the place for coffee in Taupo. Just across the road from the expo. Great food as well.

Flying 28th from Melbourne, Qantas leaving 6:00am?? What the heck was I thinking when I booked that - not much it seems. I will have my trannies hat for the run (that is if I can get to the post office at some point this week to pick it up).
