  1. When Shimano kitted me out with the D-Fly to "see my gears" they also gave me a Scio ANT+ computer to use in conjunction with it. Here is the review of PRO's step into a very competitive sector. http://transitions.org.au/index.php?a=209

    Lachie's Blog

Trannys adopted Pro Athlete Lachie Kerin has written a blog post that shows maturity beyond his years in his assessment of what he believes it means to be a Pro Triathlete. http://transitions.org.au/showarticle.php?cid=90&p=10 If you are in Noosa for the tri festival track him down and say hi and wish him luck.
  7. Ok guys, glad you like the idea.Hope you like my cheesy title (I cant help myself I love a good pun and a "Dad joke" ) Anyway the first installment, Lachie's bio is online now. http://transitions.org.au/showarticle.php?cid=57&p=10
  8. I know a lot of us are crusty old curmudgeons and we all have our opinions on Triathlon "pros", but I think secretly we all like to see someone do the hard yards and get a good result. I have approached Lachie (lachie94) if he would be intersted in being Trannys "resident pro" since he is a bona fide Tranny and out there having a go. So what does it mean? Well since I dont have any money to sponsor him this is what I think. It gives Lachie a chance to put out some blog style stuff without having the pressure of constantly keeping his blog moving, it gives him and also his sponsors a bit of exposure and helps him in his ambassadorial role for his sponsors. For us, well it gives us someone to cheer on and keep an eye on his progress, we can get an insight into how exciting or otherwise the life of a "pro" actually is and maybe an idea of all the things we dont even know go on........ oh and if he does well we can all take the credit He will also keep posting on the forum and it will also give us a chance to ask questions we want to know about the life of a pro. Hope it works out and is entertaining and rewarding for both sides. His bio will be his first post which will be up on the website in a day or so.
  9. OK, so 6W/kg for an hour is the ballpark figure you need to be capable of to be a Grand Tour contender. Given that so many of us have power meters now, I think it would be fun to realise how shite we are in comparison to GT cyclists. So, go look at your power data and out yourself on this list, writing down how long you can hold 6W/kg for BTW, put 'P' after your time if your data is from an actual power meter, 'S' if it's from Strava calculations and if you got it from somewhere else then write down where from. Riders Vincenzo Nibali: 1h Donncha: 1m 48s (P) (510W @ 85kg)
