    WANTED: ZIPP 404'S

My wife has a rear Zipp 404 tubular in very good condition. It's a 2005 model (non dimpled) and was purchased from Victor Cycles in Brisbane. It has been used only for racing half and full Ironman. Bearings are good etc. She removed the Zipp decals as she preferred the plain look. She has a 808 rear now so this is a spare wheel not being used. If you are interested I can take some pics and send them to you. We are living in Denver, Colorado so there would be a charge for postage - I checked online and it looks like $35 approx (US dollars) from here to Aus. $500 Australian + postage is the amount we would be looking for. This would be without tyre or cassette. Let me know if you are interested. Robbie

Thanks CQTri I'm looking forward to my birthday tomorrow - it's still Wednesday here in Colorado It's still off season here, so no NZ, but looking forward to Ironman Coeur d'Alene and Canada later this year.
  4. My wife and I are renting our house at Graceville. It's 3 bedrooms, queenslander style with a double garage underneath and a driveway for off street parking. Ceiling fans and downlights in all rooms. It's on a quiet street with Graceville State School and parks leading down to the river. The neighbours on either side are great. It's very handy for commuters with Graceville station only 5 minutes easy walk across a park. Coles, Woolies and Indooroopilly shopping center are less than 5 minutes drive away and there are also excellent Thai, Indian and other restaurants only 500m around the corner, as well as a bakery, petisserie and cafes. For cyclists and triathletes it's on the route of the river ride - Brisbane's most well know ride route. For those wishing to train with the Cycos it's also in the 'golden triangle' - 800m from AP's house where many rides and runs commence. Cycle time to Brisbane CBD is 25 minutes very easy ride on bike paths 50% of the journey. There are three pools and UQ running track within 10 minutes drive / 15 minutes ride. There is also a gym 2 minutes drive away. The house is available immediately. There is an open house this Saturday 8th January at 11:30am Please PM me if you have any questions, or contact Shanna McLeod at Remax on (07) 3510 5222 Please view the full advertisement for further details and photos http://www.realestate.com.au/realestate/gr...rties/403666636

Interesting design features, especially clean cable routing. As an aside, I'll raise the question as to the motivation behind Mitch putting the vid on youtube. Was it really to promote his new bike and major sponsor ?, or was it to start making his list of excuses should he have a bad race on Oct 11th ? More commonly known as 'doing a Luke Bell' ? In the past we heard fairly regularly the line 'but I work full time as a Dr' as a possible explanation of results he may not have been happy with. Since Busso last year he's been saying how well he will go now he's a full time pro. Maybe or maybe not.

Well said Hiltz. Nice to see someone making an informed comment, especially from someone who's been involved with overseas development himself and knows a thing or two about what that entails. For those who wish to educate themselves about how Team TBB give back to the sport in developing countries, there are plenty of details on their web site. http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=51 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...view&id=270 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=94 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...view&id=200 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...k=view&id=1 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=17 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=76 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=18 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...=view&id=19 http://teamtbb.com/?option=com_content&amp...view&id=111

Here's the very very good interview with Greg Bennett. He talks about Sutton, racing to earn a living versus his desire to race in Hawaii, and interestingly about coaching his wife to make the US Olympic team, and how his goal is to help her go as well as possible in Beijing. Intelligent, thoughtful and it's noteworthy to see an elite athlete temporarily taking a back seat with his own career to support his wife. http://competitorradio.com/details.php?show=181 There is also an interesting interview with Steve Larsen recorded after Coeur d'Alene Ironman in June were Steve returned to pro triathlon with a great performance, and earned his pro Hawaii spot. Steve is now coached by Brett Sutton, while also running his own real estate company and has 5 kids. He doesn't let much out of the bag in terms of workouts, but gives enough information to dispel the more is better approach others think is Sutton's only approach. http://competitorradio.com/details.php?show=243
  9. If you haven't seen it already, you might be interested in buying a DVD of 'Little Britain Live'. The stage show is so so, but the extra's DVD contains a documentary following David Williams during the 9 months that he spent training for his English channel swim. Show's some of his longer lake and ocean training swims, and follows him on the day when he successfully swam the channel - in a very respectable time ! It's available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Little-Britain-Live-.../ref=pd_sim_d_3

  12. http://gomichellie.loopd.com/Members/miche...es/Default.aspx gomichellie.com Monday, September 22, 2008 Press Release For Immediate Release Monday 22nd of September 2008 Over the weekend whilst competing in the Ironman 70.3 Cancun Michellie Jones was forced to withdraw whilst in the lead on the run because of a slight tear in her right calf. With great regret Michellie has also decide to withdraw her entry from the 2009 Ford Hawaii Ironman World Championships in Kona. In a statement released today Michellie has this to say; "One of things that I learnt from my disastrous defence of my Ironman World Championship title last year in Kona is that the Hawaiian Ironman is not a place to be unless you are 100 percent. I am really looking forward to coming back to Kona in 2009 with avengence. I am extremely disappointed and would like to sincerely thank all my Sponsors and Freinds for their support." Once the injury is resolved Michellie plans to race several more long course events to finish out the season. This week Michellie will be attending the Las Vegas Interbike Trade Show.
