  1. For those of you with a Trek Speed Concept and have changed the standard set up to the mono plug in... Where did you source your mono plug in from? How much did it cost you? So far I have only seen it for $400 which I think is a lot considering will still need the poles and new pads https://www.trekbikes.com/au/en_AU/equipment/cycling-components/bike-handlebars-accessories/bike-handlebars/aero-bike-handlebars/bontrager-speed-concept-mono-bar-extension/p/11862/
  2. What would you say is the best training location in the world? Feel free to choose where you live and explain why Where would you love to go for a training camp and why? If there are any videos highlighting the location you would love to train at, feel free to add these as well GTN to get us started
  3. My view is that trainers last between 800-1200km depends on the workload that is put on them Racing flats I would say approx 600km depending on the workload and if focused on distance or speed (10-42k racing vs 5-10K)
  4. I don't believe Pete Jacobs is Vegan. I think he tried it for a few months like he has everything else. Frodo, Patrick Lange and Sanders I believe are all veg
  5. I see Trek doing an update of the speed concept in the near future. I personally would either wait or look on the second hand marketplace. You can get a speed concept for about 3k with ultegra mechanical.
  6. SRM is the best in my experience. I have a quarq now and at times will decide I am superman. (needs regular calibration which the SRM does now) IF I was looking I would look at either the Garmin vector 3 pedals or the new SRM pedals that I don't believe have been released yet
  7. Yes in October. I had a friend fly out on the 29th Sept and they said no.
  8. I don't think the website has changed. I went to Port Mac and there was no issue with my sci con bike bag which certainly is outside their set dimensions. This came about due to this trip being a work trip. The concern is that they can stop us at any point at the airport and say here is what it says on our website. Qantas needs to change their dimensions. Jetstar and Virgin have no issues with any bike bags or boxes
  9. IT is what Qantas has told me. We could turn up to the airport and have no problems. However we could turn up and they say it doesn't fit what is stated on their website and then there is a problem
  10. I have been chatting to them on facebook messenger. I also share because as triathletes so many of us have integrated bikes which is why we use bike bags that allow us to keep our handlebars on. The bike bag like the scicon aero comfort. Qantas required the handlebars to be removed as well as the peddles which required tools, a sound knowledge on how to dismantle and refit your bike, also pay excess baggage for the tools. My scicon bag which is designed for integrated triathlon bikes does not fit Qantas dimensions. These strict dimensions are based on boxes no bike bags that are designed for the integrated bikes and those who don't know how to pull apart and reassemble their bike.
  11. Currently Virgin appears to be well ahead allowing passengers to take their bike in any bike bag with a 23kg limit with option to pay for additional weight I have a flight booked with Qantas due to depart on October 12th and they are telling me they don't allow bike bags anymore and only allow the use of a cardboard box. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/travel-info/baggage/sporting-equipment.html?sf93369853=1#bicycles Has anyone flown with Qantas recently? What was your experience?
  12. Did the k-edge adapter not work?
  13. unfortunately not compatible with my current k-edge TT mount https://www.pushys.com.au/k-edge-tt-mount-for-garmin.html?utm_source=google_shopping&76=1210&aid=137636&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsKa3poPz3AIVkQoqCh0lKgbqEAQYASABEgLPSfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  14. For those interested I have found 3: K-edge, barfly and velocomp https://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/sigma-sport-tt-mount/ which needs an adapter for the gopro https://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/garmin-mounts/combo-mount-interface/ https://www.bikebug.com/bar-fly-4-tt-computer-mount-p-61313.html https://www.clevertraining.com/velocomp-combo-garmin-powerpod-mount
  15. Does anyone have/use a Garmin gopro TT mount? Thoughts? Where did you get yours from?

    Active fees

Active states Ironman receives the payment for processing fee

    Active fees

Where is the logic in that? Do you not like to see change in the world or do just choose to cop it expecting nothing to change and tell others to live the same way?

    Active fees

I contact Active as their website states "no processing fee" for those who pay $80 for membership. However this isn't actually true. I contacted them and they said its up to $10 off the processing fee (If a race is cheap enough this could potentially mean that there is no processing fee) Obviously not the case for those entering Ironman and 70.3 events. Can anyone explain to me how a company can warrant charging 8% to enter is some details? Can Ironman not do this or find someone who does it for less? I also don't understand how Ironman can state an entry fee seperate of the processing fee as it is part of entering is it not? Legally I don't understand how companies are able to get away with being misleading
  19. Over 5000 athletes expected? So its going to be a draft fest. Why can't they make it a world championships and have a limited field of and stick a 20m draft rule. If they are going to have 5000 they are going to need to do it over at least 2 days and a 1 lap course
  20. Not complaining. I actually love sharing the day with the Ironman guys. To race and then spend the day supporting everyone is a day well spent. The comments were more in regards to previous comments on the distance of the course being short. From my experience it didn't seem short. Also from mates who raced it seemed pretty spot on
  21. I did the 70.3 and the course is set up for the ironman. Our ride was 500m long as the Ironman turn early for the second lap. Our run was 600m long as well as the transition and finish line are in different spots.
  22. Does anyone have a Zipp super 9 with 808 clincher front with Black decals they are looking to sell?
  23. I would go with Caden if they had a clincher model for the disc but they currently only do the disc in tubular. The only option I see at this stage is the zipp super 9
