You and I think alike. Reading the magnum website, I was thinking.....can't wait for the 2017 TACX MAgnum fail video.

Imagine the one where the back wheel drops off the end the treadmill at 30km per hour....... The treadmill will then throw the front wheel........ I am thinking hole in the ceiling or in the wall behind you :) ouch!!!!!

I prefer the one off the side at 30km/h, where the bike & rider go through the front wall.

At maximum gradient of 15% that should be just about right.

How about accidentally grabbing some front brake.

Over the bars onto a 30kph belt face first!!!

I'd have the front brakes totally disconnected, and the rear so loose you could only slow down gradually.

Wouldn't the front wheel just spin? Why would it throw you off or am I thinking of it wrong?

I'll rather invest in a Bitelli (https://www.bitelli.net/) instead of a Magnum

Wow! That's an impressive bit of kit.

I Ike it

I'm half thinking of a treadmill for running , if I could ride on it also it would be a bonus

I don't want to spend three hrs pre ride or run programming it though

From Bike Radar

Quote

If you’ve got room in your bike torture chamber for such an arcade game it won’t come cheap, with the bare bones version costing roughly $3,300 / £2,350 / AU$4,500 and the gradient-adjustable version worth upwards of $6,200 / £4,300 / AU$8,400

Just tell the mrs you are buying something for your bike and it's not new wheels.

No questions would be asked until it's delivered.

Oh I can hear the laughter already when my wife finds me fallen from the wind trainer with broken bones.

I'm missing something here. Turbo trainers are great for power specific training and for the winter but surely if you want to practice on hills... you can go and find some hills??
