At least she's got her bike now - Qantas did a fine job of looking like they'd lost it.

Mel has completed day 2 & in good spirits heading into day 3.

Her support crew are getting tired & chasing sleep every chance they can get.

Day 4 - in Maui.  Mel came through a rough swim - nice washing machine conditions....she's on the bike,  at the turnaround point and looking fresh.

Bloody amazing.

Day 5 is in Kona.

I see day 5 has started but 2 bikes are missing. So those people are going to run first and then bike. Hope one isn't Mel.

A really late start in Kona. Seems they started at 10am.

I wouldn't want to start an ironman in Kona at 10am after doing 4 already.

These people are tough as.

All 10 that started and still going on day 5. Really impressive.

That is just cruel.  Running the Kona leg last.  The bike & run are as boring as bat shit.  Nothing but black rock & BS white rock graffiti to look at.

Mel is a tough chick & I'm sure she will get it done.

Her support crew are looking shattered. I was 50/50 about going over to crew for her.  After seeing their pics, I'm kinda happy to be home & sleeping in my own bed.

I can't believe that EVERY pic I've seen of her she looks like she's still having fun.

Amazing stuff.

Now she is on a plane to Noosa to crew for a friend at Ultraman.  That is a huge effort.

Ultraman will be a doddle after that.

Maybe IP has to step up, instead of sticking to the safe waters of short distance Ultraman :)

IP would never do simething like this.

No sideline worshippers for him.

And i doubt mentally tough enough.

Just rolling around taking 16-20 hrs to do an IM just to say I have done it would do my head in

I'm into racing :-)

When I saw EPIC I got really really excited initially but it was one big let down. I thought this was about the EPIC Australia pass that Perisher give out (at a price). Its there season pass which also give me free skiing in the US during the following Northern hemisphere ski season.

Ski season starts in about 20 odd days....... then another 20 days for the season to kick in.

Bring on the snow!

You can race it but I doubt you could. No one forces you to take 16hrs.

Go and do it and just smash out 5 x 10:50 races.

But we know you won't. No fan boys there
