Well day one has thrown the crew a curveball with Centrnnial park having road closures.

So it's off to the pool as usual then off to Kurnell for laps on the bike then Sans Souci for 14 laps on the run.

But hopefully tomorrow things will be back on track and back in Centennial.

Rolling around in 1.40 ish hundreds at the moment.

T1 wil be a shocker now they have to drive a few ks and will probably stretch the day out by an extra hour at least but probably better to be at day one she fresh than half way in where sleep and rest will be at a premium.

Is that a mass start, rolling start or waves? Hard to tell from that photo.

Have fun, guys.

The most confronting thing about this thread is its 100 days to port mac ironman. Or is it 99 days? Either way it's scary.

Why did they not know about the road works

Was it not planned ?

That would be a bummer for them as you probably lucky it was on day one

I don't think it was lack of organisation on their part. Just some communication issues and bureaucracy and stuff.

Just as a warm down.

Technically UM would be less work each day for 3 days than what he has started today.

Very exciting, the potential for news limited / Fairfax / the abc to get involved is exponential as the sport goes backwards. Would love to see someone, anyone get involved and see coverage for the sport.

Did he get day one done?

Yes mate.

I'll try and get all the links for the data.

But bike is on Strava "iron Century" or John Mergler

Run is on qarqnet

He will probably just be saddling up for the ride. Look for the big sign written campervan.

You could offer to ride a few laps with him but today he was riding solo at 38-39 kph so have a good brekkie if you want to hold his wheel
