I'm pretty sure we already know who the winner is going to be.

That genuinely looks awesome. The tour of the captured spy ship would be great.

I'm quite keen. Anyone want to share a room?

According to Kim Jong Il's biography, he first picked up a golf club in 1994, at North Korea's only golf course, and shot a 38-under par round that included no fewer than 11 holes in one. Satisfied with his performance, he reportedly immediately declared his retirement from the sport.

I'm genuinely intrigued. Would be an interesting way to 'see' NK. Well Pyongyang. I've read a few books and articles and from a couple of blogs from past runners, it's certainly an interesting experience.

I've seen NK from the border, they have buildings with nothing behind them. We went down two of tunnels where you can see the blast marks on the walls. There is a tour on a Wed that you can take that goes way closer and is more in depth. Unfortunately Koreans and expat Koreans are forbidden from going, so we had to miss out.

Kinda like having a race inside a prison and you're ****ed if you get in any trouble whilst there. No thanks.

I'd like to chat with someone who's been there. Intrigues me. Could I email your mate Flanman? I'd like to chat to someone who's done the marathon too. I think I'd be a bit scared though. Would be one holiday I wouldn't want to pay for single supplement - would want to share!

Sisters boyfriend did it. Had a great time. Did sign up for the Full but buggered knee meant he only did the half.

Had some good photos of inside the stadium. The tour group/guide fairly well controlled and directed he said.

Everyone very friendly, I assume under instructions to be precisely so. Had no issues.

He's coincidentally a travel agent, so might've helped the whole situation.

Turtle. Sorry, he moved over to London earlier in the year and lost touch. I'll try and track him down.

Dude won the 10km in 40:20.

Â

I can do that comfortably, as can quite a few people on here. Wonder what the results were like over the other distances?

Yep, glorified (but no glory) fun run (but no fun)

Thanks Johan - I googled and 'cold emailed' him and he's just replied! He actually specialises in organising tours/visas through Kyoro (the main North Korean travel company). I'm still intrigued but a little intrepid too.

Hi Peeps,

I was/am set to do this in April but unfortunately my buddy has pulled out and I'd kinda rather not go there by myself even though I'll be on a tour.

Any Tranny keen to join me?

April 9th - 14 weeks to go.
