woah, just had a look at Pogo man's website.  Wonder if he's heard from AHPRA yet in relation to advertising violations.

AHPRA forbids holding out unreasonable expectations : as such,  guarantee to get you to the start line is an unreasonable expectation.  Also 6 week complete recovery?  Perhaps because they have trade marked these names it alieviates the truth in advertising but I would dispute this.

They also claim to be experts, which implies they are better than any other practitioner which Is not permitted.

any claims of treatments or therapies they use must be linked to solid evidence.  They have done this generally, but I did pick up a couple of issues:

They offer EWST and there is a little spiel on whether it works and what it can treat.   they reference a systematic review study which cochrane undertook in 2005 to support their use of EWST for tennis elbow - unfortunately that study rejected the use of EWST for tennis elbow, a platinum level rejection no less.  Whoops.

They also offer WBVT citing solid evidence for a variety of issues, one of these being osteoporosis.  A systematic review in 2011 concluded that WBVT does not increase bone density in older women.  double whoops.

This 80/20 rule is all well and good for runners. We aren't runners though and need to factor in 2 utter disciplines. I would never run the required volume for this to work.

I think a lot of peeps ride too much and don't run enough. You can blag the ride if you're under-done, you can't blag the run if you're under-done.

I disagree with this part, my reading of the guidelines leads me to believe that only the Specialist title is protected i.e. can't use that word unless been through the College specialisation process. My interpretation is you are permitted to say special expertise in, expert in, etc as long as you can back it up

Apart from that, I agree re the ESWT, just had a patient for a second opinion re plantar fascia pain who has dropped $2.5k with a podiatrist for 2 sets of orthotics, ESWT for 8 weeks at over $150 out of pocket per session, manipulation, and now a series of injections. Funnily enough improving with exercises.

KPI is the system this business is using, establish credentials with a book, then differentiate yourself by billing over $1000 per client contact
